As spring approaches, more and more homeowners are getting ready to start renovating the most important room in the house; the kitchen. You might recall seeing an inspiring ” Before and After Home Renovation” done by Restyle Design, LLC,on Home Bunch earlier this year and I am truly happy to have this talented designer on the blog again to share this kitchen renovation! Here, the designer Susan Kosonocky shares more insights of this reno and some impressive “before and after” pictures. Read on!
Kitchen Renovation with a Before & After Pictures
“This client wanted to update their dated kitchen and give it a more modern feel. We started with a revised cabinet layout, first enlarging the island to allow for more seating and additional storage. We then moved the double ovens to the refrigerator wall and replaced the hanging microwave with a micro drawer on the island. We changed the refrigerator to a cabinet depth model, eliminated the unused desk area to create a clean look on that functional wall. We took away the awkward corner and created a small beverage station with open shelving and deco tile to create some visual relief and interest. We changed out the electric cooktop for gas cooktop and added a sleek range hood to modernize that elevation. We went with white cabinets on the perimeter and a grey textured melamine on the island and topped everything with a gorgeous Britannica quartz from Cambria. We swapped out the dated pendant lights for two larger metal pendants to complete the look.” – Susan Kosonocky of Restyle Design, LLC.
